Who loves fonts? Me, I love fonts! Also animations. And educational YouTube video animations about the history of fonts. Well, typography. And when I say “history” I mean “Western history” because this video starts with Guttenberg and doesn’t get any further east than Italy. ((For the record, Asia has had various forms of movable type printing, and thus typography, since the 11th century, i.e. what in Europe tends to get called “the Dark Ages”.))

Still, if you’ve ever wondered what things like “old style” or “humanist sans” of “slab serif” means, this is a cute primer.
