The story of how one Twitter early adopter lost his single-character username. The story is sadly a familiar one, relying on attackers exploiting weak security protocols in helpdesks rather than actual technical breaches.

Hiroshima still hasn’t, at the time of posting, gotten his Twitter handle back, despite all the attention given to his article. Hopefully, by the time this post gets off my blog queue, he’ll be back to being @N once again.

Edit: Nope. It’s back. I guess that goes to show that, while the weak link might be people, they’re usually the ones who can fix a problem, too.
