Factoring in genre based pricing differences doesn’t really change things for me, because there are genres, just like there are occupations, that are majority or stereotypically/historically women majority, which changes the difference in how that genre or occupation is valued. When science fiction was led by Mary Shelley, when all genre fiction was smushed under “romance,” it was by and for women, and it was looked down upon.
