I, for one, welcome our new robot-driven, Star Trek-inspired, “mincome” supported future.

The interesting thing about the article, which is talking about the trialing of minimum basic income in Finland, is that the initiative is receiving support not just from the left, but from economic right groups like libertarians. After all, administering endlessly means-tested government social security programs is very expensive; what better way to cut government “waste” than just giving out a flat minimum basic income to everyone? (Remember: less tax dollars spend administering benefits means more tax dollars to give as benefits… which is something the math of the article doesn’t seem to take into account.)
