For “excellence in gaming”. There 2017 shortlist has been announced and there’s some interesting stuff included. The Beast is basically, like, “consentacles Tumblr in a card game”, and I’ve heard nothing but good things about Gloomhaven from multiple sources.

I’ve also heard excellent things about Emily Care Boss’s The Romance Trilogy… though it is perhaps a little out of my comfort zone by being non-speculative. I’ve got a PDF copy and am looking forward to taking a peek.
