A new study reveals most Americans very strongly disagree that their private information is a fair trade for online services… but most are also resigned to it happening anyway.

Also of note:

The report also flags up that large numbers (often a majority) of U.S. consumers are unaware of how their purchase and usage data can be sold on or shared with third parties without their permission or knowledge

This is not true in all countries, but it is true in the U.S.

Coincidentally, guess which country most businesses that rely on the sale of personal data as their business model are based in?
