Great profile of Beard in The New Yorker, interrupted only slightly by a weird segment in the middle that attempts to humanise some of Beard’s detractors (remembering “Beard’s detractors” are the people who, for example, Photoshopped a vagina onto her face in a photo which they then spread around online). Which Beard then immediately discounts in a quote about sexist narratives. Like, I get the point the article’s author was trying to make–sort of a straight-up demonstration of “don’t do this”–but… yeah. Maybe not so much.
