Essentially, while 83% of people who responded to a survey thought that not feeding worked on trolls, a comparatively close 75% thought it did work.
It’s a little more complex than that, of course, and the article goes into more detail both on what kinds of trolling and what kinds of “feeding” has been shown to help improve online discourse (nice to see the shoutout to League of Legends there, too). It also acknowledges that, yeah. Some people really are just toxic abusers, and need to fuck right off. But for everyone else, maybe engagement can help.
