The big problem we face isn’t coordinated cyber-terrorism, it’s that software sucks.

I mean, don’t get me wrong. Coordinated cyber-terrorism is a problem, too. But a lot of it relies on using exploits in sucky software so, yanno.

If engineers build a car that explodes when someone puts their foot on the brake, some bastard’s gonna get sued, and also possibly sent to jail for negligence. We haven’t really seen much of that in the software industry so far, but it’s coming, in the same way safety regulations came to manufacturing over the 19th and 20th centuries.
