Well, not according to science, it doesn’t. Or rather, it does, but not beyond the effect of a placebo. And given “real” acupuncture is shown to be just as effective as sham acupuncture (basically, pretending to poke people with needles but not actually doing it), you may as well just go an get the latter given it dramatically reduces the chance of infections and other horrible complications.

Look, I get chronic pain. I have it too, and it sucks. I’d do basically anything to get rid of it. Anything except give money to charlatans and quacks, that is.
