The most useless emoji.

The fact that the emoji standard shipped with three different variants on “cable car” (🚡, 🚠, and 🚟) but we had to wait until 2016 to get a stop sign (🛑) and a man dancing (🕺) really says a lot about who designs versus who uses modern technology, I think.

Eye, Speech Bubble.

This is from a while ago, but I just love how much confusion and investigation went into trying to figure out a mysterious new emoji.

The linked article is also interesting in that it talks about the use of the Zero Width Joiner (ZWJ). Basically, this is the thing you use in order to mash two emoji into one, shiny new undocumented, emoji.
