About
void-star.net is the private blog and main home of 20-something geek Alis Dee (vsnet@alis.me). It was registered on the 15th April, 2003 to replace Dee’s previous domain/blog, synthetickiss.com.
For those who are wondering, the name is an in-joke. A void * is a kind of untyped pointer found in C-family languages. Conceptually, it’s like a ‘box’ that either a) can hold everything, or b) holds nothing at all. Dee likes the name because it’s dual-purpose; it’s extremely nerdy, but sounds very glamtrash to anyone who’s never done intermediate compiled-language programming.
Despite running on homebrew logware for over five years, Dee has finally converted the latest incarnation of void-star.net over to WordPress. It’s not a move she regrets.
Layout v2.0: * supposed former apocalypse junkie
void-star.net‘s current layout features Zenntheartof-style characters from * supposed former apocalypse junkie (and Urban Nordica). The artwork was done by yours truly.
The site is designed to support primarily Gecko and Webkit browsers — as well as mobile devices like iPhones and BlackBerrys — though it renders readably in IE7 and IE8. Please see this post for an explanation on why this is so before complaining.
